Perthes letters to Sulpiz Boisserée

On 3 March 2009 plunged the building of the Historical Archive in Cologne, a city - from initially unknown reasons. In this (most German municipal) archive stored some papers of great importance for the history of literature, including by Heinrich Böll, Hans Mayer, Irmgard Keun, and part of the publisher's archive of Kiepenheuer & Witsch. be

For Goethe time must of course named the estate of art collector and architectural historian Sulpiz Boisserée (1783-1854), which is inextricably linked to the completion of Cologne cathedral building. Perthes He learned during his apprenticeship in Hamburg (since 1799) know in the bookstore and did stay in touch later. Of these, the overwhelming evidence in the witness (thank goodness) published diaries (edited by HJ Weitz, Darmstadt, 1978-85).

In Cologne estate, stock 1018/240, 21 letters were kept in Perthes Boisserée, mostly private content as well as questions about specific books:
